James E. "Jim" Frasure, long time Genesee resident, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 23, 2014 in Pullman from complications of heart disease and diabetes. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Genesee Community Church, 118 East Ash Avenue, Genesee. Pastor George Kemp will officiate and a potluck reception will follow. Jim was born July 30, 1970 in Fremont, Ohio to Lon and Doris (Bartlett) Frasure. When he was six months old the family moved to Lebanon, Oregon and later settled in Vale, Oregon where Jim graduated high school in 1988. He attended college at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon and it is while he was there that he met the love of his life; Michelle Flodin, also a student there. November 15, 1989 is their special day and Jim and Michelle have been together ever since enjoying all they could over the past 25 years. Following the birth of their daughter and as their young family started to grow; Jim worked at three jobs to keep providing for them. He held jobs at KG Men's Store, K-Mart and Pizza Hut all in Ontario. In 1994 the family moved to Genesee, Idaho and Jim worked as a Pizza Hut store manager for the Moscow, Pullman and Clarkston locations. After leaving the restaurant business, Jim worked in various management positions. He worked at the University of Idaho for seven years as a manager in the dining/food services division. Their family continued to grow during these years as well with the addition of three boys. Jim enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports teams; especially the Chicago Cubs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; he loved spending time with his family, collecting baseball memorabilia, coaching various sports teams, participating in outdoor sports, camping, hiking, cooking and conquering China on his video game. He also liked to play board games and card games with his family. He was the founder and chairman of an Inter-Business Softball League that played games in the Moscow/Lewiston areas. Jim has been a coach for the Genesee Parks and Rec teams since 2000 and the Lewiston Boys and Girls Club since 2010. He's been an active volunteer and assistant to the Genesee Rec Department since 2002 and part of the Genesee Civic Association since 2009. At the time of his death Jim was employed at Washington State University as a manager in the concessions department. He has been with WSU for approximately six years. Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years Michelle at home in Genesee; daughter Britany Frasure, Moscow, and sons Ryne, Ian, and Zachary all at home in Genesee; his brother David serving in Afghanistan and his sister, Dee and her husband Rankin Johnson of Vale, Oregon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
