Obituary

Joan Wilhelm Willson, longtime Colfax resident, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home in Colfax surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 13, 1936 in Endicott, Washington to Herman and Beulah (Miller) Wilhelm. She lived in St. John and graduated from St. John High School in 1954. She attended Washington State College and on March 19, 1955 she married Norman Willson. They lived in the Green Hallow area, where they farmed and ran Willson Tractor for 37 years. In 1992 they sold Willson Tractor and moved into Colfax. They enjoyed going south in their RV and spending the winter traveling and visiting friends. She is survived by her three children; Terry and Daryl Koch of Liberty Lake, Steve and Laurie Willson of Liberty Lake, and Julie and Bob Sevedge of Colfax; five grandchildren, Stacia (Garin) Schenk, Chris (Andrea) Willson, Sarah Sevedge, Samantha (Eric) Furlet, and Brad (Francis) Russell; 9 great-grandchildren, Poppy, Aston, Nya, and Loki Schenk, Lincoln Sevedge, Eli and Bree Willson, Olivia and Henry Furlet. Also surviving is her brother, Max Wilhelm of Spokane Valley, and sister Karen (Mike) Johnson of Colfax as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norm and her parents.  A private family graveside will be held at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe, Washington. Memorial donations are suggested to the Whitman Hospital Auxiliary (1200 W. Fairview St., Colfax, WA  99111) or to the Union Gospel Mission (PO Box 4066, Spokane, WA  99220).
