JOE "SUNNY" VICKROY, 72, of Juliaetta, Idaho passed away on May 19, 2014 at Tri State Hospital in Clarkston, WA. He was born Dec. 20, 1941 in Turlock, CA to Joseph & Dorothy (Fultz) Vickroy. Joe grew up in California, graduating from Laytonville High School, after which he attended Junior College for a time. He located to Montana where he began his career in the timber industry along with raising his family. He met Lorna Thompson and they were married on March 17, 1978 in Corvallis, MT. The family returned to California in 1980 where Joe operated a service station until his retirement in 1988. The family returned to Idaho in 1989 where they lived in Kamiah for a time until locating to Juliaette where he has made his home since. Joe enjoyed the outdoors and everything it offered. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and horseback riding. He loved the back country. Joe's family was important to him. He loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as all the family vacations where many wonderful family memories were made. He is survived by his wife Lorna; his five daughters Lynette (David) Rummer of Colfax; Donna Wilkins of Colfax; Elizabeth Patereau of Clarkston; Myra (Tracy) Archer of Monett, MO and Beverly Vickroy of California; 14 grandchildren; his great grandchildren, two sisters Doris Ann Carter & Gayle Pinches, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother and a sister preceded him in death. No public services will be held. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax, WA is caring for the family.
