John William Britton passed away on November 13, 2016 at the Avalon Care Center in Pullman, WA. He was 87 years old. John was born December 27, 1928 in Canon City Colorado to Joel Britton and Mary Adams. He married Betty (Marr) Britton on January 24, 1971 in Florence Colorado. John served in the United States Navy from 1950-1952. While in the Navy he served proudly on the USS Magoffin APA 199 until his honorable discharge. He and Betty moved to Spirit Lake and then to Endicott for work. John worked on the Lower Granite dam doing concrete work and would always find himself fishing nearby with Betty and the kids. He loved taking his family camping during the summer and also enjoyed taking the boys hunting. John was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. After retiring he and Betty spent as much time as they could camping and fishing. He volunteered many summers at Central Ferry Park where he always made friends with everyone he met. In his later years he lived in Harrison ID where he met many new friends before moving to Moscow ID to Clark Place where once again he met many more people he was proud to call friends. No matter where he went he touched many lives and was proud to call all those he met friend. He is survived by his four children, Becky of Endicott, WA, Leo of Barstow, CA, Jimmie of Colfax, WA and Donald of Harrison, ID, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and five siblings. A graveside service will be held at the Endicott Cemetery on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Wounded Warriors or to a charity of choice.
