John Edward Knott passed away on September 11, 2017 in Pullman Washington. He was born at Spokane on June 11, 1947 to parents James Richard and Gloria (Hawks) Knott who farmed in the Endicott area.
He attended grade school at LaCrosse and spent his early high school years at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. After the loss of his sister Sara, he returned to finish high school at LaCrosse and graduated in 1965. He then went on to attend Yakima Valley College and Spokane Community College.
After serving in the United States Army for a short time, he returned to the Endicott area and farmed the family farm his entire life.
John loved the farm he served and always strived to be a good steward of the land.
John was kind and generous with an easy going manner which made him easily likable. He would always help anyone in need.
He had a particularly big heart for all living animals and was always found to be caring for numerous dogs, cats and even horses. He connected with them easily.
Even though he fought a long battle with cancer he maintained a positive attitude and sense of humor right to the end. He now is pain free and rests in peace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gloria, and his sister Sara. He is survived by his partner Kelly, brothers James Bradley (Anne) Knott, and Richard Erik Knott.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St, Spokane WA 99217 or other no-kill animal shelters of your choice.
