John Frederick Nesler, 61, of Pullman, WA passed away September 15, 2025 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. John was born February 4, 1964 in Lake City, Iowa to Paul & Sandra (Brumbaugh) Nesler. He grew up in Rockwell City, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1982. John entered the U.S. Air Force where he began a 26-year career, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. His years in the Air Force found him serving during Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his retirement from the Air Force, John went to work as a civilian for the U.S. Navy ROTC program. He retired in 2024 from the University of Idaho ROTC program. John married Brenda Bandy and together they had a daughter Shauni. They would later divorce. On October 22, 1999 John married Karen Poole in Anchorage, Alaska. Together they made their home in South Dakota, Hawaii, Mountain Home, ID before locating to Pullman, WA in 2011where they have made their home since. John loved the outdoors and everything it offered including camping, fishing and hunting. His family was so important to him and always enjoyed time spent together no matter the event or activity. John especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. He also loved animals and especially enjoyed the family's dogs. He was proud of his country and his patriotism. He is survived by his wife Karen at the family home in Pullman; his daughter Shauni Nesler (Cameron Wright) of Boise, ID; his step-son Shane Leduc of Crestview, FL; his brother Jeff Nesler (Amber Baybayan) of Ankeny, Iowa; his step-sister Angie (Brad) Menard of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; His twin grandchildren Easton & Lydia Wright and his nephews Reese, Will & Miles Nesler; Justin & Jordan Menard and Christipher & Kyle Gogel. John was preceded in death by his parents. No public services are planned at this time. Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.
