John Dale Rummer, 74, of Colfax passed away unexpectedly on Friday December 13, 2013. At John's request no formal services will be held.
John was born on December 17, 1938 at Spokane, Washington to William E. & Grace (Nessly) Rummer. He grew up in Spokane and graduated from high school there and then attended classes at Spokane Falls Community College, earning his associates degree in culinary arts. He met Christine Cook and the two were married on March 5, 1974. They eventually moved to Colfax where he worked as a chef for most of his career at the Wheat & Barley restaurant downtown.
John enjoyed traveling with his family to the Oregon coast and took several trips to Glacier National Park. He enjoyed dock fishing, talking politics and shared a love of animals with his wife.
John is survived by his wife Christine Rummer at the family home in Colfax; sons David (Lynette) Rummer of Colfax and Adam (Shara Osborne) Rummer of Moscow; five grandchildren and four siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
