Joseph Clyde Leifer, 78, of St John, WA passed away September 14, 2022 at Cave Bay, Lake Coeur d'Alene, ID.  Joe was born March 29, 1944 in Spokane, WA.  He was second eldest of 10 siblings of Clyde & Helen Leifer of Pine City, WA.  He grew up and attended school in Pine City and St John, graduating in 1962.  Joe attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA from 1962-1963.  He also attended Edison Technical School in Renton, WA from 1963-1965.  Joe then worked for the St John Grain Growers as the Manager from 1965-1975.  Concurrently, he served as a volunteer firefighter on the St John Volunteer Fire Department from January 1965 until December 1975.  Joe married Patricia Schierman in St John on September 25, 1965 where they made their home.  Joe then purchased and became owner/operator of Schierman Elevator Company in Lancaster, WA from 1975-1991.  Not quite ready for retirement, they then moved from Lancaster back to St John.  Joe then worked for the St John Grange Supply as a Field Serviceman.  After his retirement, they enjoyed spending time at their lake cabin on Lake Coeur d' Alene, ID.  Joe & Patty have three children, Steve, Keith, and Jeff.  They have 7 grandchildren Morgan, Rachel, Ryan, Bo, Adeline, Max, & Gus.  They have a great grandchild due in October.  Joe enjoyed his family and friends more than anything. He was a loving and beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, cousin, and uncle.  His family always came first.  Joe is survived by his wife Patty of St John, his son and daughter-in-law Steve & Paige Leifer of Post Falls, ID, son & daughter-in-law Keith & Pam Leifer of Spokane, WA, son Jeff Leifer of St John, WA, and siblings Margaret, Marie, Laura, Clyde, Ed, Daniel, & Dolores.  He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde & Helen Leifer and his brothers, John & Jim Leifer.  A celebration of life ceremony will be held on November 12th, 2022 at the St John Community Building in St John, WA.  Corbeill Funeral Home of Colfax, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.  Memorial donations are suggested to be made to the St John Volunteer Fire Department.
