Julie Ann Manner, Colfax resident, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 7, 2021 in the emergency department of Whitman Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was 49. Julie was born August 17, 1971 in Modesto, California to John Wayne and Edythe Darlene (McPherson) Davis. She graduated from Colfax High School. While working in the Grand Canyon National Park 24 years ago, Julie met Mel Manner who was also working there and from Texas. They married September 17, 1993 and have called Colfax their home since. Julie has worked at Whitman Hospital in Colfax for many years; first as a phlebotomist, and more recently as a clerk in the emergency department and for same-day surgery. She and Mel loved to go camping with their daughter Jordyn. Their favorite places were near water such as times spent at Priest Lake or at Boyer Park. Julie also loved to hang out with friends, play cards, and have a good time. She is survived by her husband, Mel, and daughter, Jordyn, at their home; her mother, Eddie McPherson, also of Colfax, step-father, Mike McPherson, and her sisters Angie McPherson and Jeri Perrin. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Bruning Funeral Home. For those who are interested in joining via zoom, a link will be posted on the funeral home website.
