Obituary

Kristine Louise Hatley Alvarez Delos Santos, 73, of Pullman, WA, passed away peacefully at her home on July 5, 2024. Born on October 5, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Margaret (Baker) Hatley, Kris spent her formative years in Pullman, graduating from Pullman High School in 1968.

Kris pursued a career in nursing at Tacoma General Nursing School in Tacoma, WA, where she met her future husband, Frank Alvarez Delos Santos, on a blind date. The couple married on January 30, 1970, at McCord Air Force Base, WA. After completing her nursing education, Kris worked as a registered nurse in hospital emergency rooms and a nursing home, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to caring for others.

Throughout her life, Kris and her family moved frequently due to Frank's military career, raising their five children across various locations. In 2007, Kris and Frank returned to Pullman to care for her mother, Margaret, and to embrace the beauty of the Palouse region, which she loved dearly.

Kris was a woman of many talents and interests, including photography, crafting, scrapbooking, and sewing. An accomplished seamstress, her creative spirit was evident in everything she did. Above all, Kris was devoted to her family, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was an active member of the Colfax Church of the Nazarene.

Kris is survived by her loving husband, Frank, their two sons, Aaron (Michelle) and Anthony, three daughters Angie (Jesse), Adina, Anna (Ray), seven grandchildren Marissa, Madyson, Madalyne, Aaron, Noema, Jelina, and Eloisa, two great-grandchildren Margaret and Marilyn, and her sister Elisa (Jim). She was preceded in death by her parents, D.C. and Margaret Hatley.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 PM to 5 PM at Corbeill Funeral Home in Pullman, WA.
