Obituary

Kristine Mari Mason-Rock, 48, of Pullman
On Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, God said your work here is done and took Kristine Mari Mason-Rock to her heavenly home from her Pullman home where she was held by her adoring husband, Julius Juice Rock. She passed from complications of surgery.
She was the first of three children born to proud parents Willis "Bill" and Dianne "Di" Rowland on Aug. 12, 1968. Sister Lisa and brother "Bill" William followed. She joined other siblings Tom, Sandra, Karen and Tammy. She grew up and graduated from Clarkston High School.
She was a freshman when she was smitten by the boy next door. Just prior to her junior year, she and Mark Patterson gave birth to her first love of her life, T.J. When he was 20 months old, Mark was taken from this earth.
She later married Dustin Mason and gave birth to her second love, Danielle.
In 2009 at Hot August Nights, she met this remarkably tough yet tender loving man who became her true rock. Kris and Julius Juice Rock were married May 5, 2012. She gained five great kids, Jessicca, Alycia, Jace, Lennon and Greyson. She was so proud of them and thoroughly enjoyed sharing their sports: football, hockey, wrestling and baseball.
She saw her son T.J. marry a beautiful loving young lady, Alyssa, and together they gave Kris her third love, Colton. This little grandson was her pride and joy and totally had her heart.
Kris enjoyed playing baseball and powder puff football in her school years and converted that toughness to becoming a member of the Rolling Hills Derby Dames, skating by the name of HellnoKitty. She continued her roller derby activities despite broken bones that required surgeries.
She had an artist's eye: decorating several homes for others, creating jewelry and dreamcatchers. She had taken up photography and just finished photographing, mounting and framing her first picture which she presented to her mom a few days before passing.
She loved her mini trips with Juice on his Harley-Davidson, "Dutch," feeling the wind in her face, sampling beer from different breweries, a trip to the ocean or camping in the mountains. She got to enjoy so many adventures with Juice.
She was preceded in death by her first love, Mark Patterson; her beloved daddy, Bill Rowland; and five months later, her bonus dad, Gary Bond; and sister Karen Rowland.
She is survived by her last and best love, Julius Juice Rock; son T.J. (Alyssa) Patterson and grandson Colton; daughter, Danielle Mason; brother Bill (Shannon) Rowland; sister Lisa (Paul) Carey; siblings Tom Kammerzell, Sandra Haugen, Tammy Rowland; special brother-in-law Kevin (Sara) Patterson; bonus children Toni Segrove and her daughter Haddie, Jessica, Alycia, Jace, Lennon, Greyson Rock; nieces and nephews Marcus, Carson and Ellie Patterson, Tori (Bryce) Sarmiento and daughter Aliylah; Wyatt and Keaten Rowland, Jessica Haugen and son Nicholas, Matthew Haugen; and Abbie (Chuck) DeMeerleer, Liz (Dustin) Carter, Sam (Peach) Kammerzell and their families; special sisters Anna Estrada, Kandy Pretz and Christy Ortiz; her special homey Rockey Reynolds; her roller derby family and "derby wife," Sara Joplin; and co-worker sister-friends at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare where she was employed; too many others to name; and her fur babies, Mocha and Cora; and of course her mother, Di Bond.
Kris was so loved for her big heart, generosity, non-judgemental yet feisty and fierce spirit. So go be with your first love, Mark, and your daddy my darling daughter. No one can keep you from them now. Bill, you take care of our "Huckleberry Chip" 'till I get there.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at New Bridges Community Church, 2102 Eighth St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Brad Bramlet officiating. A celebration of life will follow immediately at Riverport Brewery, 150 Ninth St., Clarkston.

"Rather often I am asked whether the grief remains as intense as when I wrote. The answer is, no. The wound is no longer raw. But it has not disappeared. That is as it should be. If he was worth loving, he is worth grieving over.
"Grief is existential testimony to the worth of the one loved. That worth abides. So I own my grief. I do not try to put it behind me, to get over it, to forget it ... Every lament is a love song." - Nicholas Wolterstorff.
