Obituary

LARRY M. JOHNSON, 80, of Potlatch, ID passed away July 16, 2015 at his Potlatch, home. Larry was born March 13, 1935 in Pullman, WA to Lawrence & Myrtle (Delapp) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Pullman where he was active in FFA and 4-H. Larry graduated from Pullman High School and began a long career in the agriculture industry in which he farmed and drove truck his entire life. He worked for a time in Moscow at the tractor company, but always returned to the farm. Larry married Joyce Palms in 1954 and together they had two children. The couple later divorced. In 1969 Larry married the love of his life Jane Gearring (Colley) and they made their home in Potlatch since that time. He enjoyed camping, fishing, refurbishing farm equipment, collecting tractors and raising cattle throughout his life. Larry was a member of the Moscow Moose Lodge as well as the Potlatch Lions Club. His is survived by his daughter Cindy (Ken) Ellis; two stepdaughters Sharon Nagle & Paula (Philip) Palmer; his brother LeRoy (Sara) Johnson; his sister Betty Newby; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-nieces and nephew. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jane and son Keith Johnson. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 PM on Wednesday, July 22nd at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 24th at 1 PM at the Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow at the BellTower Event Center in Pullman. A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Potlatch Cemetery in Potlatch, ID. Memorial donations are suggested to the Potlatch Lions Club.
