LAWRENCE RAYMOND FLETCHER, 91, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2015 from age related causes at his Pullman home. Lawrence was born in Opportunity, Washington on October 18, 1923 and was the eighth of nine children born to John and Geneva Fletcher. Lawrence married Patricia Dee Ogle on October 4, 1947. Lawrence met Patricia when she babysat his sister's children before World War II. After the war he started dating her which led to a marriage of 67 years. He served in the US Army during World War II in Europe and was at the Battle of the Bulge, where he almost froze to death. Lawrence said he started honing his carpenter skills at eight years old and helped advise a teacher on how to build a house at 15 years of age. Later he owned his own business as a General Contractor, building custom homes and more. Many years later, his three sons came along side of him in the business. He loved the outdoors and because of that and his love of spending time with his family, he built his own house on Twin Lakes and spent many summers with his family and other relatives on the lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Beside the love of his life, his wife Patricia, he is survived by his children Neila (Dick) Wimmer; Raylene (Jim) Fry; Steve (Judi) Fletcher; Mike (Gayle) Fletcher and Doug (Julie) Fletcher. They were also blessed with 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, with more on the way. In his last days Lawrence reaffirmed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A family graveside service and gathering to celebrate his life is planned for a later date. Kimball Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
