Leo Stevick, longtime Steptoe area resident, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at his Regency apartment in Pullman. He was 87. A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 29 ^th , at 1:30 pm in the Onecho Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Nelson officiating. Leonard Orlan Stevick was born June 21, 1932 in Colfax to Edward, Sr. and Rhoda Mae McCully Stevick. He grew up in the Onecho area on a farm. He was active in 4-H and always had a steer that he was raising and showing. Leo and a group of others travelled by boxcar to the Chicago stockyards one time during the 1950's to show off their prized steers. After Leo graduated from Colfax High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1954-1956. He returned to Colfax after being honorably discharged from the military and worked around many different area farms and for lots of different people. He made his home near Steptoe for many years. Leo never married. He worked at the seed plant in Colfax at one time and also for several years at the Ace Hardware in Colfax. He was an avid bowler and had bowled on many leagues in the Colfax area. In younger years, he liked to hunt as well. He is survived by a nephew; Bill Stevick in Colfax. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax.
