Leroy W. Walton Jr., 89, of St. John, WA died September 26, 2016 at his home. Leroy was born August 16, 1927 in Tacoma, WA to Leroy Sr. & Edna (Hultengren) Walton. Leroy graduated from Lincoln high school in Tacoma during which time he participated in track and field. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army where he spent three years serving our country. He did take a college course in accounting however couldn't stand sitting behind a desk. Once he retired from the Army, he then went to work at the local post office sorting mail until he later retired. Leroy spent a lot of his time traveling the world where he visited many places. He belonged to the Scottish Rights where he served as a mason with the Shriner's. One of his favorite things to spend his time doing was gardening. He loved flowers, but most of all, loved spending time with his family. Leroy is survived by his three nieces; Cindy Blumenshein of St. John, WA, Stephanie Hetrick of McKinleyville, CA, and Marci Ballard of Port Angeles, WA; and a brother, Robert L Walton of Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery in Lakewood WA.
