LILA ELENORA (EMERSON) KNEALE, 93, a lifelong resident of the LaCrosse community passed away on July 25, 2012 at Whitman Hospital & Medical Center in Colfax, WA. Her life will be celebrated at Selbu Lutheran Church at 11 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2012. Private burial will be held at the Colfax Cemetery. A potluck dinner and time of fellowship will follow at the LaCrosse City Park. Lila was born July 26, 1919 to Lewis and Emma (Wigen) Emerson. She married James Kneale on September 23, 1939. They farmed near Central Ferry until his death on February 14, 1974. The most important things to Lila were her faith and family. Lila cooked for the LaCrosse School District for many years and was a gifted baker and pianist and loved to share these talents with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe, Earl, Ed and Brown and sister Inga. She is survived by her children Gary (Myrna) Kneale of Colfax, Robert (Myrna) Kneale of Moscow, Jeanne (Gary) Joost of LaCrosse and Arthur "Butch" (Teri) Kneale of LaCrosse; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Lila will be remembered for her generous heart and warm smile and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
