Linda Louise Janes Miller passed away at age 65 on Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla Washington, from complications related to multiple sclerosis.

Linda was born in Anna Illinois on January 6, 1957. Her parents and two sisters, Patsy and Susan, moved to Anna from Dayton, Washington in 1956. Two years later her brother Ron was born, and Linda and the other siblings spent many years of their childhood working after school and on Saturdays in the family dry cleaning business.  Linda loved horses, and summers were spent going to the city swimming pool and off to Dayton each July to visit her grandparents and family, and for annual fly fishing in Idaho.

She graduated from Anna Jonesboro High School in 1975 and then attended Southern Illinois University before moving to Chicago in 1978.
Linda worked in the Chicago area for many years, first as the Export Manager for Weber Marking Systems, and later for Box USA as an Administrative Assistant and then as their Mill Scheduler.

In 2010, upon the sudden death of her father, Bennie Janes, Linda moved to Dayton to be a companion and later caregiver for her mother, Ruth Hutchens Janes. She became very active in the Dayton community and was involved in the Friends of the Library, the Hospital auxiliary and the Friends of the Fairgrounds. She took joy in serving meals at the Senior Center and loved hosting and calling the Bingo games once a month. For a while she served on the board of the Dayton food bank and often helped with the annual enrollment of clients.

She also enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including collecting anything related to snow, snowflakes and snow scenes, and collecting cute dragon figurines.  She loved to pour over cookbooks and cooking magazines; and scour magazines for endless cleaning tips, all of which she never forgot. She enjoyed reading books, especially about cats and mysteries, completing puzzles and Sudoku.  Like the rest of the family, she loved cats. Shortly after coming to Dayton she adopted a stray, Kiwi, and in recent years her constant companion was beautiful Blackie, a long-hair stray that she also adopted.

Linda was preceeded in death by her father and mother, and is survived by her sisters Patsy Linert (Dan), Susan Balling (Gary), brother Ron ( Kerry), and nephews: Brian Linert (Stephanie Murphy), Michael Linert, Logan Janes; and nieces: Mackenna Janes, and Lindsey Murphy.

The family is honoring Linda's wishes for no public service, and will hold a private family burial at a later date. Services and assistance are being provided by Corbeill Funeral Home.
Memorials in Linda's honor can be made to the Dayton Senior Center or the Dayton/Waitsburg Community Health Foundation Fund.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Linda's caregivers: Darlene, Jamie, Angie, Kaye, Lee Ann and Marion.  Also our gratitude goes to nurses Jen and Teresa, and the entire Dayton Hospital staff and therapy department. Thank you also to neighbors, family and friends who provided endless care, kindness and support over the last few years.
