Mr. Lloyd Albert Elze (age 78) passed away April 12, 2017 in Spokane, WA. He was born on August 22, 1938 in Westcliffe, CO, to Marion L. and Martin G. (Hunt) Elze. His parents were part of the Pioneer families in Wet Mountain Valley, CO. He was the oldest of 4 siblings. Lloyd grew up and attended schools in Taos, New Mexico, before enlisting into the Navy. He spent two years serving in the Navy before returning home and attending Fresno City College in Fresno, CA. Lloyd married Edna T. Elze in Reno, Nevada in 1964. He worked for the railroad for 20 years driving hazmat trucks before retiring and driving harvest truck for Henning's Farms. Lloyd is survived by his wife Edna T. Elze of Thornton, WA; 4 children, Philip Elze of Farmington, NM, Henryetta Elze of Jarrell, TX, Louise Richey of Farmington, NM, and Martin Elze of Anchorage, AK; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 siblings; Barbara Debenedetto of CA, Lucille Tenorio of Taos, NM, Betty Grubbs of Arkansas, and Ralph Elze of CA. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter Elze.
