LLOYD R. KYNOCH, 87, of Colfax, WA passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Whitman Hospital & Medical Center in Colfax. Lloyd was born Aug. 23, 1924 in Perth, ND to Andrew & Jessie (Gall) Kynoch. He grew up in Perth & Bisbee graduating from Bisbee high school. He moved to Seattle, WA to work in the ship yards and in 1943 enlisted in the US Army. Lloyd served during WWII in the infantry, where his unit was active in the Japanese theater. He received the Purple Heart, and in Dec., 1945 was honorably discharged. He returned to N. Dakota and on Sept. 10, 1946 married Inez Maler in Bisbee, ND. They moved to Pasco, WA and Lloyd began his career as a grain inspector for the state of Washington. Lloyd became head inspector and the family moved to Spokane where they made their home until 1974 when they moved to Colfax, as the state offices relocated to Colfax. Lloyd and Inez have made Colfax their home since that time. Lloyd retired as head inspector following many years of service. Lloyd enjoyed life and all that it offered especially fishing and hunting birds. He coached his son Randy's baseball teams and was active in Boy Scouts as well. Lloyd and Inez both enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues through the years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Inez; daughter Linda Peters and husband Ken of Spokane; 3 grandchildren Ken Jr., Monica & Angela; 1 great granddaughter Miranda; a niece JoAnn Nearance and a nephew Merlin O'Brian (Sharon). Lloyd was preceded in death by his son Randy in 1988 & 3 sisters. Viewing will be held at Bruning Funeral Home on Wed. & Thursday from Noon to 5 PM. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax. Vault interment with Military Honors will follow at the Colfax Cemetery.
