Lonny Lee Ellis, 91, passed away at The Courtyard Retirement Home in Colfax on November 4, 2026.

He was born on August 8, 1935 in Oakesdale, Washington to Eugene Lee and Gladys Dorothy Ellis.

Lonny got his education by way of the Oakesdale School District and went on for a year at Washington State University. He then spent four years in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home he went to the school of hard knox and spent his entire life farming.

Lonny met and married Sally Rae Gustin on January 8, 1956 and together they had four children and fostered another. Lonny married Ella Louise “Weezie” Black Elkins, a school teacher, in 1985 and together they joined their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Gladys Ellis, his second wife Louise Elkins Ellis, his sister Dorothy Elkins of Oakesdale, and one daughter Susan Joanne Alderman of Colfax.

Lonny is survived by his first wife Sally Schrenk of Colfax, his brother Larry Ellis of Spokane, his sister Judy Gibbs of Sandusky, OH; his children Chris (Kari) Ellis of Oakesdale, Jeff (Kristi) Robinson of Colfax, Dean (Connie) Ellis of Yakima, Cindy (Doug) Curtis of Colfax; Weezie’s children; Dana (Chris) Elkins, Marian (Don) MacKenzie, Terry McFarland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 12th, at 11:00 AM at the Oakesdale Cemetery followed by a potluck luncheon reception at the Oakesdale Fire Station. Donations may be given to the Shriners Hospital in Spokane, Washington. On-line guest book is at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
