Lorinda Claire Warner, passed away January 31, 2011, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Ed and Janice Olson of Colfax. She was born in Albion, WA on April 30, 1911 to James and Eva Kenoyer. The sixth of eight children. She graduated from Albion High School and went on to attend Huntington College in Huntington, Indiana majoring in music. She also attended Cheney Normal School which would become Eastern Washington University. During World War II she was employed by Boeing Aircraft in the engineering department. After her first marriage ended, she attended cosmetology school in Spokane. Lorinda worked many years as a beautician and eventually opened her own salon, "Linda's Beauty Mart", in Pullman. She married Roy "Buzz" Warner in 1948. Buzz was an enormous help in her business and gardening efforts. On occasion he would comfort her as she cried over a "frost bitten" garden. Mr. Warner was a retired postal employee. He passed away in 1982. After Lorinda's retirement she spent some years in Yucaipa, CA. to be near her California family, moving back to Colfax in 2000. Lorinda was a Sunday school teacher for ages Junior High through College. She was also an accompanist at church for many years. Lorinda encouraged her grandchildren to have faith in God and encouraged them in music and education. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and was an avid reader. She was a member of Calvary Christian Center, in Pullman, and an inactive member of the Pullman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by two daughters, Doris and Ron Green of Big Bear Lake, CA. and Janice and Ed Olson of Colfax, WA; 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; also by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on her 100th birthday, April 30th, at the Albion Community Church at 2:00 pm with burial following at the Albion Cemetery.
