Lorraine Bramhall, longtime Dayton resident, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Rivers Walk Assisted Living in Dayton. She was 79. A Memorial Service will be Friday, December 20th, beginning at 11:00 AM at the United Brethren Church in Dayton with Pastor Greg Brownell officiating.

Lorraine was born July 12, 1945 in Dayton to Lesta and Wanda Greiner Walker. She grew up around Dayton with her older sister Lawana. In her younger years Lorraine was active in Cub Scouts and 4-H. She enjoyed riding horses around Dayton with her girlfriends. She was a cheerleader in high school and served as a regional secretary for FHA (Future Homemakers of America). She was in Pep Club all four years and was Homecoming Queen her senior year before graduating from Dayton High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Cecil Bramhall, on January 25, 1965.  She and Cecil worked summers for the Green Giant cannery in Dayton. They lived in Pullman and Yakima while furthering their education and then for a few years in Rosalia and Spokane where Cecil worked for a fertilizer company. They started a family soon after getting married and in 1971 made the decision to move back to Dayton with their two young daughters; Char and Christine.

Lorraine began working as a bank teller in 1972 at the National Bank of Commerce and later for many years when it became Rainier Bank. She spent over 35 years in her banking career; most of it as a Loan Officer. She was a familiar business woman around Dayton for years. Lorraine forged lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers and customers over her career. She was sharp and had a mind for business and mathematics. She retired when she was 61.

Lorraine kept the books for their farm which they moved to in 1973. The Bramhall homestead is where the family lived most of their lives. Cecil passed away in 2017 and after staying on the farm for five years she moved into town with her daughter. She has lived at Rivers Walk for the past nine months.

Lorraine enjoyed taking drives into the mountains with Cecil and her daughters. Their family took summer camping trips rafting in Troy, Oregon with a large group of friends. Lorraine loved to spend time with her sister Lawana and her children Roger and Mark. Those boys became like brothers to Lorraine's girls Char and Christine. They did many things together as family. She was a true and genuine friend to many. She had a heart that people could trust. Lorraine liked researching her family genealogy and she was a talented craftsman when it came to re-finishing and repairing antique furniture; a hobby she shared with Cecil. She was also an avid golfer.

She is survived by her two daughters; Char (Mike) Campbell in Kent, Washington and Christine (John) Delp in Dayton; 4 grandchildren of whom she was so proud; Jake, Eric, Colleen (Wyatt Koller), and McKenzie (Jordan Rehak); and by 3 great-grandchildren; Noah, Hudson and Maelyn She also leaves behind her nephew Mark (Kristi) Harting of Ferndale, WA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lawana Harting and her nephew, Roger Harting.
