Obituary

Lovetta Ann Lohr, 81 years old, passed away June 12, 2017 in Pullman, WA. She was born October 27, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to Chillious and Helen B. Virginia (Mize) Mills. Ann attended grade school and graduated from high school in Lubbock. During grade school and through high school many of Ann's years were spent with her father and step-mother, Betty J. Mills. Following graduation, she attended college at the University of Nebraska Omaha where she met the love of her life, James Lohr. The two met in September of 1954, were engaged in November and married on March 5, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they welcomed their first child, Cynthia, in 1958. They moved frequently due to James being an officer/captain in the United States Army. Following the military, they moved to Tacoma where they owned and operated a 7/11 convenience store. Between working at the store she also volunteered at the school in Tacoma. She was very active in the Rainbow Girls organization with her daughters from ages 11-21 years. In 1980, James and Ann moved their family to Colfax, WA where she became active in the Community Bible Church, volunteering for the swim team, and working at the voting poles. She loved helping at wrestling tournaments for her children and was very artistically talented. She was a member of the Amaranth and Eastern Star organizations, was a member at the Eagles and was also part of a motorcycle club called the Banana Belt. She loved helping at wrestling tournaments for her grandchildren and was very artistically talented. Ann is survived by her four children; Cynthia (Mario) Ceccarelli of Spanaway, WA; Daphne (Robbie) Starrett of Colfax, WA; James Lohr II of Pullman, WA; and Delta (Don) Franklin of Colfax, WA; 13 grandchildren; Angela, David, Josh, Nicole, Vinnie, Rebecca, AJ, Albert, Tony, Travis, Deidra, Jeff, and Taylor; 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings; Janice James, Judy Castro, and John Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband James Lohr, by a brother, Jeff Mills and by her parents. A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery with a reception to follow at Schmuck Park.

The family asks that memorials in Ann's name be made to the Grandmothers Shop in Colfax or to the Diabled American Veterans (DAV).
