Lucille M. Christopher, 91, Endicott native, passed away April 7, 2012 at the Whitman Health & Rehab Center in Colfax. A Funeral Service will be held at the Bruning Funeral Home Tuesday, April 17th at 1:00 pm. Pastor Lynn Nelson will officiate. Viewing will be at Bruning Funeral Home on Monday from 9 to 4. Lucille was born March 12, 1921 in Endicott to Adam V. and Mary Gerlitz Morasch. She grew up on the family farm near Endicott along with 11 other brothers and sisters. Lucille graduated from Endicott High School in 1940. She married John J. Getz January 31, 1943. They farmed just outside of Colfax and Lucille kept busy as a homemaker and mother to their two sons, Ray and Ken. John died April 18, 1959 while the boys were still young. Lucille kept the farm until the lease was up and then she moved into Colfax. She married John Albert Christopher on October 23, 1967 in Colfax. They lived in La Grande, Oregon, Othello, Washington and Cupertino, California before retiring to Walla Walla, Washington in 1979. Lucille liked to fish and she was always involved in their farming and cattle operations. In later years she loved to paint, especially water-colors. She was active in the Lutheran church throughout her lifetime and she was a member of the Elks Lodge and a charter member of the Colfax Eagles Auxiliary. Lucille is survived by her two sons; Ray (Carol) Getz of Othello, WA and Ken Getz of Coulee City, WA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth Bafus of Colfax and Alice Stover of Endicott and a brother, Floyd Morasch of St. John. In addition to both her husbands, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax.
