Lyle O Brouse, 81, of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Colfax Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia in Colfax, WA.

Lyle was born November 12, 1943 at his home in Worley, Idaho to Fred and Gladys Brouse.  He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Worley High school in 1961.  He has 2 daughters, Lynette & Marla, from his first marriage. He then met the love of his life, Sherry Hatley, at a St Patrick's Day dance on March 17, 1979 and was married later that year on November 17, 1979.

Lyle's first job was as a arm hand driving tractor for a local farmer, Bill Sterns.  He then worked for Helbling's in Moscow and then he worked 34 years for the City of Moscow's Waste Water Treatment Plant when he retired in 2001.

Lyle enjoyed his time with Sherry, square dancing with the Palouse Promenaders, camping with friends and family, traveling with the Heritage Club of Pullman and the Road Runners of Moscow.  He enjoyed fishing with friends, attending auctions with his brother-in-law, and tinkering around the farm.  He loved tractors, especially his toy John Deere collection.

Lyle was a caring and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sherry Brouse; daughters Lynette Mazzola and Marla Withers; his sister Marilyn (Bill) Taylor; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews; grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Ronald and Robert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Colfax Golf and Country Club, 2402 Cedar St, Colfax, WA, followed with a reception.  Corbeill Funeral Home is caring for the family.  In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Worley Historical Society at 28825 S Cave Bay Road, Worley, ID  83876 or to the Hatley Family Cemetery Association, PO Box 1035, Pullman, WA 99163.
