Obituary

Lyndell Repp, lifelong Colfax resident, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at The Courtyard in Colfax. She was 79. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 28th, at 1:00 PM in the Colfax Cemetery with Pastor Ian McMichael officiating. Viewing for those who wish will be on Thursday from 9 to 5 at the Corbeill Funeral Home.

Mary Lyndell was born November 7, 1945 in Colfax to Willis and Ethel Hawk Mettler. She was one of three children to bless the Mettler home and she grew up in Colfax with her brother and sister. Lyndell graduated from Colfax High School in 1963 and then attended beauty school in Spokane. She married her high school sweetheart, David P. Repp, Jr., on December 21, 1964 in Colfax.

Together Dave and Lyndell created a warm and loving home for their children, Evelyn, David and Cody. Their love story spanned over 50 years, marked by unwavering support for each other and laughter. Lyndell's beloved husband David passed away just over 5 months ago.

Lyndell's home in Colfax was filled with love and laughter. She gave haircuts in her home and later at Loretta's Beauty Salon in Colfax and for many years at the Model Beauty Shop on Main Street. For many, many years Lyndell fixed hair at Bruning Funeral Home and she always considered this a special honor and privilege to her community.

The Repp family loved to spend time at their place on Sun-Up Bay on Coeur d'Alene Lake. She was an avid reader and she loved cats. Lyndell was very proud of her grandchildren and she loved to spend quality time with them and tell them stories. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her 3 children; Evelyn (Jim) Wood of Boise, Idaho, David (Karla) Repp of Liberty Lake, Washington, and Cody (Tasha) Repp of Bellingham, Washington; 5 grandchildren; Ethan, Brogan, and Hudson Repp and David and Caitlyn Wood; by a great-grandson, Richard Bertsch, and by her sister; Ruth Ann Brett of Orange Beach, Alabama. In addition to her husband; Lyndell was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashton Bertsch and her brother, James Metler.
