Obituary

Lynne McClintock, longtime Colfax resident, passed away early Thursday morning, July 24, 2025 with loving family by her side. She was 88. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 31st, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Corbeill Funeral Home, 109 N. Mill St., Colfax followed by a  reception at the Colfax Golf Course Clubhouse.

Lynne was born October 7, 1936 in Potlatch, Idaho to Arnold and Sadie Anderson Johnston. She grew up in Potlatch along with her younger brother Bill. Lynne graduated from Potlatch High School in 1954 and moved to Colfax a short time later. She worked as a "fountain girl" at the Top Notch Café in Colfax before starting a job as a secretary/assistant to Dr. Ripple. Lynne met a handsome man one day while working at her job for Dr. Ripple. After a short courtship Lynne married Stanley Ray McClintock in Colfax April 16, 1955.  They made their home in Colfax and Lynne relished her role as homemaker and mother. She went to work as an assistant in Dr. Temple's office for several years, she and Stan operated the Hyde Out Tavern for a while, and then she finished her career as a program manager in the ASC Farm Agency Office in Colfax before retiring in 2000. Lynne and Stan along with their entire family were very instrumental in the parks around Colfax and spent countless hours as a family lovingly mowing and caring for the park grounds. They did this together for over 40 years. She and Stan were members of the Colfax Elks for many years and she could often be found helping out in the kitchen there. She was a member of the Colfax Fire Department Auxiliary, the Eagles, and the American Legion. She was also active in a club for a group of ladies in the Mockonema area, she played the piano and organ, was a Camp Fire leader for Girl Scouts and taught Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church in earlier years. Lynne loved her family, she crocheted many gifts for her children and grandchildren alike and she canned everything; even teaching son-in-law Gary how to can cherries. She always kept busy in her yard and garden too. Lynne loved her dogs; especially Luci Bell.

Lynne is survived by a loving family including daughters Trudy (Gary) Libey, Lori McClintock, and daughter-in-law Elaine McClintock all of Colfax; 5 grandchildren, Briana (Jay) Kimble, Derek (Darcy) McClintock, Rachelle (Taft) Kortus, Patrick (Dawn) Libey, and Jesse (Elya) McClintock; 10 great grandchildren and by her brother, Bill Johnston also of Colfax; a sister-in-law Sharon Moys of Walla Walla; nephew Jeff (Kelly) Moys, and niece Marla (Brett) Morrell.  Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Stan, son Don "Bones" McClintock, her parents, brother-in-law Lowell Moys and a sister-in-law Janet Johnston.  The family suggests memorial gifts be given to McDonald Park or the Colfax Fire Department.  On-line Guest book is at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
