Obituary

Marcia Luree Anderson, 89, of Pullman, Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on February 18, 2026. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved wherever she went.

Marcia was born October 25, 1936, in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Buckley and Puyallup, where she graduated from high school. A simple blind date during a double date with friends led her to Wayne Anderson and a 70-year love story. They were married on December 6, 1955, in Puyallup.

Family was everything to Marcia. She is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne Anderson; daughters Jodi Anderson and Cheryl (Bob) Mitchell, both of Pullman; sons Wayne “Andy” Anderson Jr. of Great Falls, Montana, and Darrell (Lori) Anderson of Monarch, Montana; and brother Ron Callahan.

Her “grands and greats” were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren are Darin (Desiree); Kristen; Wayne III (Brittany); Tyler (Erica); Jessica (Ray); Sarah (Joel); Amy; Alec (Randi); Duncan (Carley); and Ethan. Her great-grandchildren, listed oldest to youngest, are Destiny, Giovanni, Lindon, Adalynn, Everett, McCarthy, Morgan, Aelyn, Theodore, and Moriah.

Wayne served in the U.S. Navy from 1953–1957 and in the U.S. Air Force from 1958–1967, so Marcia and Wayne built their young family while living in many places. Andy was born in Hawaii, Jodi in Kansas and Darrell in Georgia. From 1964 to 1967, the family lived in Guam and remember that time fondly. Cheryl was born in Great Falls, and while she was a baby, they built a house in Belt, Montana which became their home for the next 40 years. In 2008, Marcia and Wayne moved to Pullman, Washington. This marked a fresh start and a chance to be closer to their daughters.

Right after high school, Marcia worked for the telephone company. Over the years she also held a variety of jobs, including veterinarian’s assistant, bookkeeper, and grocery clerk.

Marcia never met a stranger. She was passionate about making sure everyone had enough to eat and that everyone she met knew they were loved. She also had a special love for animals and shared her life with many beloved pets.

Through the years, the family enjoyed downhill skiing, horseback riding, camping, and boating, but Marcia’s favorite was snowmobiling. For a season, Wayne and Marcia traveled together in their RV, never in a hurry and always savoring the journey.

She was a woman of deep faith and a member of Belt Valley Church and, after moving to Pullman, found her church home at Living Faith Fellowship.

Marcia will be remembered for the warmth she shared so freely, the love she poured into her family, and the life she built alongside Wayne over 70 years of marriage.

Marcia’s life will be celebrated at on March 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Living Faith Fellowship in Pullman and on July 4 near Great Falls, Montana. Arrangements are entrusted to Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Friends of Hospice. Donate online at FriendsofHospice.net or by mail to Friends of Hospice, 110 E Canyon St, Colfax, WA 99111.
