IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcia Lavonne
Brown
December 18, 1935 – June 10, 2025
Marcia LaVonne Brown, 89, passed away on June 10, 2025. Marcia was born on December 18, 1935 in Spokane to Charles and Mildred "Toots" Davis. She was raised in the Deer Park area graduating with the class of 1955. Shortly following graduation, she met the love of her life, Gary Brown and they married on January 27, 1956. Following their marriage, Gary enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Hartford, Connecticut. It was there that they welcomed their first son, Randy. Later they moved back to the Oakesdale area so they could begin their life together on the family farm. It was there that they welcomed a second son, Rick and later their daughter, Renee. For 14 years, Marcia worked as secretary for the Oakesdale School District. She took great pride in raising her children and farming alongside Gary. You could say she did it all. She loved all living things, especially her numerous pets and animals. Marcia had a huge love of horses and spent many afternoons riding through the Palouse. When their farming days slowed down, Marcia and Gary found a new way to express their lifelong love of farming through the creation of their beautiful flower gardens. They planted many trees and flowers at their home and enjoyed sharing them with whoever came to see them. Marcia and Gary were never apart; always following their children and grandchildren to their sporting events and activities no matter where they were. Mom had the biggest heart and was the sweetest person who was loved by all. Marcia is survived by her three children, Randy (Candi) Brown of Post Falls, ID., Rick (Laurie) Brown of Pullman, WA., and Renee Grube of Eugene, OR; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Jerry (Francis) Davis, Rod (Linda) Davis, and Mike (Judy) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary in January, her parents, and by son-in-law, Steve Grube. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at the Thornton Cemetery at 12:00 PM. A reception will follow at the Oakesdale Fire Hall. Corbeill Funeral Homes of Colfax is caring for the family. On-line condolences may be made at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
