Marjorie Ann Roach

September 5, 1940 – January 11, 2026

Marjorie Ann (Brenneman) Roach passed away at her home in Pullman, Washington on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her three sons and family members. Born the fourth of seven siblings to missionary parents in Dhamtari, India on September 5, 1940, Marjorie lived a life that took her from India, to Kansas, to American Samoa, back to India with her own young family, and subsequently to many parts of the United States. Known for her spirited, adventurous nature as a student, Marjorie graduated from Eastern Mennonite College (EMC)  in 1962 with her BSN.

Marjorie met Robert Wenger at EMC and they were married June 16, 1962. They made their first home in a little house close by the Wenger grape farm in Waynesboro, VA. While Bob worked as a school teacher in area schools, Marjorie worked as an obstetrics nurse. In 1966 the young couple and their baby son Bradley moved to Mussoorie, India, for three years, where Bob served as a teacher at a mission school. While in India they welcomed their second son, Brenton.  Their third son, David, was born after the family had returned to live and work in Earlysville, VA.

Determined to make a new life and to support her growing sons after her divorce from Bob, Marjorie moved with her children to Denver, CO in 1979, where she worked as an ER nurse. Good friends introduced the young mother to their friend Paul Roach, and sparks flew.  The couple were married in 1980, with their wedding slotted in to a weekend that accommodated Paul's professional football coaching schedule. Then, when Paul accepted a full-time position as director of the Cowboy Joe Club in Laramie, Wyoming, Marjorie and her family moved to Laramie. As Paul later undertook various positions with the University of Wyoming (UW) athletics program, including positions as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Marjorie became a faithful Wyoming Cowboys supporter, which would continue for the rest of her life. She loved the UW athletics family and opened her heart and home to many Cowboy events at their residence in Laramie. After Paul's retirement, the couple continued to live in Laramie, and Marjorie continued her part-time nursing work in a range of positions until 2000.

Often funny and sometimes irreverent, Marjorie loved finding a good bargain, reading, golfing, sewing, and spending time with her friends at St. Matthew's Episcopal church. As her grandchildren grew older, she loved having them stay for visits. Two of her grandkids attended UW, and she adored meeting their friends, vetting their dates, and taking them to brunch at O'Dwyer's.

In 2017, she and Paul moved to a retirement community in Pullman, Washington to be closer to family.  Here Marjorie enjoyed more time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids; beating her sons at their daily online Wordle challenge; and taking day trips to area events. She remained an avid reader and football afficionado.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her spouse of 43 years, Paul Louis Roach. She is survived by her children, Bradley Wenger, McCall, ID; Brenton (and Trish) Wenger, Pullman, WA; David (and Kerri) Wenger, St. Croix, USVI; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date in Laramie, WY.  Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.
