We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Mark Leighton on Thursday, July 24, 2025. His departure leaves an immense void in our lives. Mark was a loving and selfless man, proudly married to Barb Leighton for 39 years. He always prioritized his family's needs above his own and was ever willing to lend a helping hand, even when it meant altering his plans for the day.
Mark was hardworking, honest, and caring, with a sense of humor that knew no bounds. He loved making his wife laugh and smile with witty remarks, jokes, or simply a warm hug accompanied by an "I love you." Known for his playful spirit, he enjoyed playing pranks, often alongside his give children.
His passion for classic cars and all things farming was a defining part of his life. Mark had an unparalleled love for music, constantly seeking out new songs or discovering fresh details about tracks he had heard countless times. a devoted reader, he never missed a library sale, even in dire circumstances, knowing those boxes aren't going to pack themselves for $1!
Farming was Mark's lifelong dream; he cherished owning a piece of the Earth and sharing it with his loved ones. His talent for gardening and landscaping ensured that every blade of grass, flower, cactus, and vegetable was perfectly placed. Wherever he went, he created a sense of home.
Mark was the epitome of thoughtfulness and consideration, extending his kindness to family, friends, and neighbors alike. He embodied the spirit of, 'If there's a will, there's a way,' always finding solutions to make life better, no matter the weather- from -5 degrees in the winter to 120 degrees in the summer.
As a proud family man, Mark and Barb had five children, he adored all of his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa." Mark will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. His endless jokes, laughter, and playful spirit will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren.
