Doris Marlene Cooper was born January 18, 1936 in Los Angeles, California to Lewis Clark and Doris Lina Aydelott. She was the third of four children, including brothers Roger and Jim, and sister Lois. Marlene died peacefully in Pullman, Washington on September 26, 2016.

Marlene lived most of her early life in Alhambra, California, and graduated from Alhambra High School in 1953. She attended Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Oregon for three years, where she met her husband. She and Lynn Dale Cooper were married June 2, 1956 in Olympia, Washington, and celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary with their children in Prosser, Washington in June of 2016.

Over the years Marlene and Lynn lived in Washington, Oklahoma, California, Australia, North and South Carolina. Marlene lived in Prosser for over 28 years, and was active in many community and regional capacities. She had worked as an aid in the school system, volunteered for Annie Tran, and was an enthusiastic member of a coffee klatsch known as the "Latte' Loonies." She was a member of the Central Christian Church. Marlene served as an elder at the regional level for the Disciples of Christ denomination. These activities were important to her, but her family will remember her as a loving grandmother and brilliant seamstress.

Marlene is survived by her husband Lynn, son Kevin and his wife living in Pullman, and daughters Kathy, living in California, and Karen who lives in North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister Lois and brothers Roger and Jim, all living near Eugene. She was much beloved by her six grandchildren & nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00 P,M., at Prosser United Methodist Church in Prosser, WA. Kimball Funeral Home, Pullman, WA is caring for the family.
