MARTHA ELLEN (KRASSELT) McLAIN, 93, of Lewiston and formerly of Clarkston and Pullman, WA passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 of natural causes, with her twin daughters at her side at the Life Care Center of Lewiston. Martha was born January 10, 1921 in Latah County near Potlatch, Idaho to Paul & Ella (Fessent) Krasselt. Martha married Robert Edwin McLain on Jan. 14, 1939 in Moscow, ID. Martha was a homemaker and mother until 1954, when she started working at different jobs in downtown Pullman. In 1958 Martha went to work at Washington State University as a cook and baker until she retired in 1983. Martha was a life time member of the Pullman Moose Lodge and Ladies of the Moose, holding several different positions within the organization. Her favorite hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, camping and fishing. She was most of all a devoted mother who was a best friend to her daughters. Martha is survived by her twin daughters Elsie (Robert) Hougardy of Auburn, WA and Ella (Ken) Bishop of Clarkston, WA; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two great great grandsons and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. McLain in 1989; a son Henry James McLain; two sons who died at birth; her parents; five brothers William, Albert, Homer Wallace & Everett Krasselt; five sisters Minnie Krasselt; Mable Lenord, Myrtle Swatman, Mary Courser, Marguriet Hayter and many nieces, nephew & cousins. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10 AM to 6 PM on Thursday at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Vault interment will follow at the Pullman Cemetery.
