Martha K Reese (Maxwell)
Born to Molly and Murel Maxwell in Colfax, WA November 9, 1948, Martha passed away September 6, 2016 in Post Falls, Idaho. She was 67 years old.

Attending schools in Colfax, Martha graduated from Colfax High School in 1967. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education from WSU and her Master's in Public School Administration from Gonzaga University.

Martha enjoyed a 34 year teaching career in Spokane's Central Valley School District sharing her love of music with hundreds of elementary students. She was heavily involved in numerous music and educational associations throughout the district and the state. She will best be remembered, however, for her beautiful singing voice, her love of laughter, her loyal friendship, her unwavering support of the WSU Cougs, and, most importantly, her greatest accomplishment, being an amazing mother!

Martha is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Reese of Renton, WA, her brothers Sam (Yvonne) Maxwell of Cotati, CA, Dan (Kathy) Maxwell of Freeland, WA and nephew Sam (Cari) Maxwell Jr of Sacramento, CA.

A celebration for Martha will be held in the summer of 2017 in Spokane with details to follow.

Perpetuating her passion for music and education, Martha requested that memorials in her honor be used to enhance learning opportunities and experiences for children less fortunate.
