MAXINE E. BISHOP, 91, of Pullman, died Jan. 1, 2016 at her Pullman home. Maxine was born Dec. 5, 1924 in Colfax, WA to Edward & Elizabeth (Klundt) Krueger. She grew up in Colfax, graduating from Colfax High School. Maxine worked at the Grange Supply for a while and on Sept. 2, 1949 married Lester Bishop in Colfax. They moved to Pullman where Maxine was a devoted wife and mother, working diligently to raise the family. Her life revolved around her family and she was not only a loving wife and mother but also took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maxine always had fresh chocolate chip cookies in the jar for all to enjoy and in later years it was replaced by a candy bowl. She worked at the Bookie on the campus of WSU for many years until her retirement in 1986. Maxine enjoyed and was a wonderful cook, sharing her many skills with her grandson Paul. She enjoyed camping and fishing and time spent with family. Maxine and Lester loved to travel. They traveled extensively throughout the U.S., as well as the South Pacific, where Lester enjoyed showing her the places where he served during his career in the US Army. Her husband Lester preceded her in death in 2008. Maxine is survived by her daughter Terri (Bob) Vuletich of Colfax; her son Bryan (Alene) Bishop of Clarkston; five grandchildren Courtney Vuletich, Paul (Mariah) Vuletich, Quinn Golling, Jenna Miller & Nick (Jaime) Golling and her 3 great grandchildren Josie, Grant & Penny. In addition to her husband Maxine was preceded in death by four sisters and her parents. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at 2PM at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Private vault interment will be held at the Pullman Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the Union Gospel Mission or to the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation.
