IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvin Craig
Gillespie
May 28, 1953 – November 4, 2023
Melvin Craig Gillespie passed away suddenly and peacefully Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Whitman Hospital in Colfax with his brother and sister-in-law by his side.
He was born May 28, 1953, to H. Leroy and Olive Faye (Harris) Gillespie in Pullman, WA. He graduated from Pullman High School in 1972 and attended Washington State University for three years. He and his brother, Bob, formed a farming partnership in 1975, and he continued actively farming until 2013, at which time he then helped out in any way that he could on the farm, from giving rides to fetching tools.
Melvin always loved a holiday get-together or an opportunity to gather with family. He loved reminiscing with family and loved a good card game. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and tinkering in the farm shop.
Melvin is survived by his brother, Robert (Bob) Gillespie and his wife, Lola. Also surviving him are his niece, Jennifer (Conrad) Arnzen; great-nieces Harley and Everlee, and great-nephew Andrew, as well as several cousins.
