MICHAEL A. OWENS, 65, passed away July 12, 2015 at the home of his daughter in Moscow, ID. Michael was born Aug. 31, 1949 in Eugene, OR to C.W. & Anna (Reidinger) Owens. Michael grew up in Port Orford, OR where he attended school. Following graduation from high school Michael entered the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Oregon. He married Maggie Calaway and they had two daughters. Michael and Maggie later divorced. He recently retired from the city of Cottage Grove after spending over 20 years supervising the waste water treatment plant. Upon retirement, Michael made is home in Reedsport, OR. Michael loved his family, especially his four grandchildren. He enjoyed sailing, collecting, as well as guns and ammunition. He was a member of Siuslaw Rod and Gun Club in Florence, OR. Michael loved the Oregon Coast and enjoyed the time he spent there. He felt like he belonged there. Michael is survived by his two daughters Holly (Jason) Hunsinger of Moscow, ID; Kathy (Jared) Ralphs of Mtn. Home, ID; his sister Diane Huey; his brother Terry Owens and his 4 grandchildren.
