Michael Gerard Shea, 53, of Colfax passed away at his home in Colfax on December 18, 2013. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday December 22 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colfax. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday December 23 at St. Patrick's and vault inurnment will follow at the Colfax Cemetery.

Michael was born the fourth of five children to Jeremiah & Nancy (Hammel) Shea on October 12, 1960 in New York. He spent his early years in New York where his father was a pilot for Pan-American Airlines. His family moved to the Bay area of California in 1964, to Seattle in 1970 and finally to Colfax in 1986 to be closer to family.

He enjoyed listening to music, taking rides on the four-wheeler, spending time in the swimming pool and going out in the boat. He especially enjoyed trips to Silverwood to ride the Farris wheel, Merry-Go-Round and the log ride.

Michael is survived by his father Jerry Shea at the family home in Colfax; siblings Joseph Shea of Colfax; Gerianne Buckley, Colfax; Elizabeth Bruce of Ketchikan, AK; and Patrick Shea, Waterford, VA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy in 2009.
