Obituary

Michael William "Mike" Wells, 63, passed away May 11, 2015 at Deaconess Medical Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was a great husband, father and papa. Private family graveside services will be held at the Colfax Cemetery.

Mike was born August 16, 1951 to the late Marvin "Bo" & "Mickey" Wells, at St. Ignatius Hospital in Colfax. He grew up at the family farm on Kamiak Butte, were he began his love from farming and graduated from Colfax High School in 1970. A brief marriage blessed him with three daughters Mollie, Briget, and Darci. He later married Julie (Whitlock) McDonald on September 11, 1982 and welcomed her kids, Joe and Lisa, to the family.

Mike had and did many different jobs over his life time including being a parts man at Arrow Machinery, farming for himself and others, owning the Palouse Tavern and Wells Steak and Seafood. He was working for Wilbur Ellis as a field man at the time of his death. He was hard working and very dedicated to whatever job he was doing at the time. He had many friends over the years, who he considered as family. Mike was friends with everyone he met. He was a loving, caring and forgiving man. He enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, gardening, practical jokes and most of all wrestling and laughing with whomever he was with. Also as many of you know, the "Wells Boys", especially Mike, loved a good water fight.

Mike is survived by his wife Julie of 33 years, his mother Mickey (David) Rickets of Moses Lake, Wa; daughters Mollie (Todd) Plummer, of Helena, MT; Briget (Keith) Thompson of Diamond, Wa.; Darci (Corey) Crum of Helena, MT; Joe (Kila) McDonald of LaFayette, GA; and Lisa Aase of Colfax, Wa. Mike had 17 grandchildren who he loved to wrestle with so much! He is also survived by his brothers Rick (Chris) Wells and Jim (Debbie) Wells, both of Colfax and several nieces, nephews, family and friends from all over whom he loved very much! He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Thank you to all our family, friends, coworkers, doctors, and nurses who loved and helped take care of dad. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Whitman County Friends of Hospice. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
