IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michele
Uskoski
October 1, 1965 – June 26, 2024
Michele Uskoski - loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend - passed away unexpectedly at her home near Pullman on Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024. She was 58.
A Celebration of Life will be at Zeppoz in Pullman on Saturday, June 29th, beginning at 2:00 PM.
Michele was born October 1, 1965 in Vancouver, Washington to Laurence and Donna (Thomas) Chicks. She grew up in Vancouver with her older brother, Gregory. Michele excelled in high school athletics and band, and she was a four year – four sport lettermen. She graduated from Prairie High School in Brush Prairie in 1984. Michele attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg with an interest in music education. She absolutely loved music and played the piano and reed instruments, like the saxophone and clarinet. She could always be found with music playing (blasting), toes tapping, and singing along.
Michele married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Albert Uskoski, who was one year ahead of her in school. They wed November 21, 1987 in Battle Ground, Washington. They made their home in Pullman, Washington where Dan was attending Washington State University. A few years later, they started their family.
Michele raised their two children, Tory and Shanna, in a loving and warm home. She opened her heart and her home to just about anyone. Michele was a kind and generous person who brought fun wherever she went, and her laughter and smile would always brighten the room. Most people in the community knew her as "mom," and she could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, at any time - her social butterfly and bartender spirit. These traits were balanced with strong-willed, opinionated and tough; "Rub some dirt on it." summed up her approach to life.
Michele and Dan enjoyed playing softball and were fixtures on Pullman teams for over 25 years. They spent time together and with friends bowling, playing darts, and being active Moose Lodge members. They made many friends along their journey who became family. More recently, she loved motorcycle rides with her husband and camping with her husband, family, and friends. Michele loved the ocean, Rockaway Beach in particular. She adored caring for and helping raise her youngest grandkids during the day so her daughter could work, and she was so incredibly proud of each of her grandchildren.
Michele will be missed by many; but especially by her husband, Dan, at their Pullman home; her two children, Tory (Lisette) Uskoski of Pendleton, Oregon, and Shanna (Joshua) Taylor of Pullman; by her 6 grandchildren, Cole, Dylan, Jacob, Jaelen, Jameson, and Gage; by her niece, Tamra Chicks of Vancouver, Washington; and by her mother, Donna Chicks, living in Vancouver, Washington. Michele was preceded in death by her father, Laurence; by her brother, Gregory; and by her granddaughter, Perry Jo.
