Nancy Jane Stanard

March 27, 1951 - January 18, 2022

Nancy Jane Stanard of Colfax passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 18, 2022. She died as a result of complications from Alzheimers. She is survived by her stepson Robin Stanard, granddaughters Ashton Wegeleben and Jordan Crogan, great-grandson Grant Wegeleben, sisters Debbie Higgins and Susie Sullivan, and brothers Terry and Scott Sullivan.

The Family has chosen to wait for warmer days to lay Nancy to rest beside her husband Glen Stanard and celebrate her life. There will be a small interment service at 1:00pm June 11, 2022, at Colfax Cemetery with a simple luncheon to follow at Plymouth Congregational Church on Main Street in Colfax. Extended family and friends are invited to join the family at this gathering.

Nancy was born in Colfax from parents Vern and Donna Sullivan and lived around the area until the family moved to So. California in 1961. Nancy later returned to Colfax in 1972 founding Nancy's School of Dance shortly after. She married Glen Eugene Stanard on July 4,1973 and danced her way through most of her life. Nancy loved to dance. She taught all manner of dance, gymnastics, and fitness classes in her studio at the local library and finally at The Courtyard where she moved in 2018. She lived a short time in Whitman Rehab's Memory Care Unit, still dancing, and then finally moved to Guardian Angel Homes at Liberty Lake in 2021 where they say she was still trying to dance.

We are all quite sure Nancy is now dancing in heaven with her favorite partner, Glen. We miss you dear stepmother, grandma, great grandma, sister, Aunt, cousin, and friend, but we are very happy you are whole again. Corbeill Funeral Homes in Colfax is caring for the family.
