Obituary

Paul George Swartz peacefully entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2014. Born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 4, 1920, he outlived his 7 siblings who moved west as children when his parents moved to Burbank, CA to open a blacksmith shop. Being mechanically inclined like his father, he worked as a machinist at Lockheed-Martin until enlisting with the army to join the Pacific campaign during World War II. Upon returning from the war he joined the Monarch Insurance Company where he excelled with his personable and caring nature. During the war, he married Pearl F. Mader, his beloved wife of 70 years, April 6, 1943 until she passed away in March 2013. The couple spent time living in California; Seattle, Spokane and Colfax, WA; Portland, OR; and spent the final years of their lives with their daughter in Arizona. He is survived by daughter Suzanne (and Darrell) Lindbo; four grandchildren Torrey Lindbo (Angela), Randy Lindbo (Jamie), Sheela Hooper (Matthew) and Kirk Lindbo; and 5 great-grandchildren (Ryder, Annie, Breeana, Sage and Jarren) and loving nieces, nephews and friends. A family graveside service will take place in Colfax, WA. on Monday, November 24. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Union Gospel Mission.
Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
