Obituary

Peggy Hall

Marguerite Ann “Peggy” Dorsey was born May 10, 1939 in Walla Walla, Washington to Martin and Gertie Dorsey. She entered heaven on April 16, 2026. She was raised on a wheat ranch west of Prescott where she enjoyed horseback riding in the hills. She was a Wagonette and a member of the Walla Walla Fair Court. Upon graduating from Prescott High School in 1957, she attended Holy Names College in Spokane where she played basketball and earned a teaching degree.

She taught seventh grade in Dayton for a year until she met Jerry Hall. He was working at Bill’s Thrift Store and when he saw her he “clicked up his heels.” They were married on April 13, 1962 and soon settled on the Doc Sanders place north of Prescott. They resided there for 59 years, raising kids, hogs and a menagerie of animals. Hall’s Hog Haven provided a perfect setting to model the virtues of hard work, integrity and family.

Peggy and Jerry were dedicated supporters of their kids’ activities. They were 4-H leaders for many years. She was a long-time secretary for rural Fire Districts 1 and 7. After the kids were older, she worked as a cook for Prescott schools where her homemade ranch burger buns and cookies were greatly appreciated. The peach pies she made for the Young Life auctions were hot items. In retirement, she and Jerry enjoyed many trips in their fifth wheel and were campground hosts at various spots around the northwest. Peggy was a talented seamstress and made many outfits for her children as well as intricate clothes for their Barbie dolls. She was a prolific knitter, cranking out sweaters, checkerboard slippers and the coveted dishrags.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry; her children Suzy (Stephen) Cowdrey, Marty (Ilene) Hall, Annie (Bruce) Dudley and Judy Ketterling; ten grandchildren and 15 (and one on the way) great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Gertie Dorsey; her siblings Laverne Mayberry, George Dorsey, Betty Fish and an infant brother; and a son-in-law, Rick Ketterling.

A grave side service will be held at the Ivy Cemetery west of Prescott on Monday, April 27th at 3:00 pm. Pastor Greg Brownell will officiate. A meal and time of sharing memories will be held at the Lions Hall following the service. Corbeill Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. On-line guest book is at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
