Albert (Punkin) Rubenser died Wednesday 2-22-2012. He was born at Peola, Washington 2-24-1918 to Rob and Pearl Rubenser. Pearl died in a hay wagon accident in 1920. Rob had to work away from home so he was raised by his aunts with their children. He went out on his own when he was 15. He did a variety of farming jobs and herded sheep for 10 years. He married Ruby Messenger July 8, 1942 in Lewiston. They moved to Colfax in 1950. He worked as a Federal and State trapper for 43 years. He was an expert trapper, hunter, fisherman, gardener, wood carver, and doodler. His dad, Rob, died in 1963. He was preceded in death by Ruby, his wife of 60 years. He is survived by his son and his wife, Bob and Connie of Renton, WA and his granddaughter and her husband, Lorie and Johnnie Holbrooks of Alpine, TX. A graveside service will be Saturday, February 25th at 10:00 am at the Colfax Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at Plymouth Congregational Church.
