Obituary

Rachael Caana Swanson, age 41, passed away on June 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Rachael was born on May 16, 1985, in Spokane, Washington, to Sandie Potts and Steve Swanson. She attended school in St. John- Endicott, Federal Way and Mt. Spokane, where she formed many lasting friendships and connections that she treasured throughout her life. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of countless people and made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Rachael’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her two sons, Aiden and Oliver. They were her world, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to ensuring they felt loved, supported, and protected. She was their fiercest advocate and greatest cheerleader, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams while making sure they never lost the joy and innocence of childhood. Her love for her boys was immeasurable, and her presence in their lives will forever be felt.

Rachael possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, valued, and loved. She shared deep bonds with family, friends, neighbors, and all those whose paths crossed hers. Her laughter, generosity, and caring nature created memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Rachael is survived by her beloved sons, Aiden (14) and Oliver (9); their father, Rick Cerenzia; her mother and stepfather, Sandie and Dave Loomis; Ben and Mistique Olson; her sister, Stephanie (Ryan, Paxton, Parker); her brother, Taylor; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless dear friends who became family.

Rachael will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held June 28th at 11:00 am at Lynwood Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6525 N. Monroe Street, Spokane, Washington.
