Obituary

On June 10th 1953, Randy Linn Hall became the first born of George W. Hall and Mary Phyllis Roberts Hall in Colfax, WA. Randy was joined by his younger brother Stanley in 1955. Randy was raised a country boy in the Steptoe and Colfax area. As cowboys do, he had his favorite horse, "Coke" a beautiful Palomino.

Despite his country roots, Randy graduated High School from East Valley in Spokane, WA. The same day he walked with his cap and gown, he joined the Army in 1971.

Shortly after returning home, Randy met Cheree Campbell and they married in 1976 in Steptoe. They welcomed their first born, and named him Randy David Hall Jr. in 1977. Another Hall boy, Jayson Andrew blessed their growing family in 1979. Finally, a girl completed their family, Tara Michelle in 1981. The Hall Family grew up and apart and in 1988, Randy's mother Mary, raised the 3 kids as her own, seeing them all graduate High School in LaCrosse, WA.

Randy was the model of a rough and tough cowboy with a little redneck added for good measure. He wore a robust shell, but on the inside was full of love. He lived life in the fast lane, literally! Any fast hotrod would do, and if it wasn't fast enough, his passion for mechanics and speedy cars guaranteed it was fast. Randy also loved the outdoors, from fishing, hunting and camping and taking a drive on a country road was where he found peace. Randy's work was also his passion, it was in his blood so farming came natural to him. He enjoyed traveling with a custom cutting business, as well as working on Ted Turner's Ranch in Montana. Randy was asked recently what his favorite job was, and with no hesitation and a big grin he named Miller Farms, out of Ewan.

Very rarely did you see Randy without his cowboy hat and boots, and his long hair and beard wasn't a fad for him, but a trademark. He was gifted with mechanical hands and good humor, a jokester with a contagious laugh. He was well known for his hobby involving fast cars, maybe even outrunning the law a time or two. Randy passed on his love for the outdoors to his kids and grandkids, and some might have even caught that adrenaline rush for fast cars too. Randy remained close to his family and friends and made friends everywhere he went with his boisterous laugh and amusing personality.

Randy lived in Mullan, Idaho for a few years, before returning to his roots and finally settling in Colfax in 2015. Shortly after his return, he became ill and on his 62 birthday was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. With God's grace and mercy on this olé cowboy, Randy took his last breath on June 14th, surrounded by his family. God sent out a "wanted" Ad, looking for a loveable redneck cowboy, who could get anywhere fast, and Randy answered it, with the smell of burnt rubber straight to heaven saying "YeeHaw, Yah, ha, ha".

Randy will be greatly missed by his loving family, including his Mother-Mary Phyllis Allan, Colfax WA; Brother-Stan Hall (Sandra), Colfax WA; Sons Randy Hall Jr. (Shelly) of Airway Heights and Jayson Hall (Shawn), Spokane, WA; Daughter-Tara Hall Tupling (Norman), Mansfield WA; Randy had two grandchildren, Logan Hall of Airway Heights, WA and Hannah Jo Tupling, Mansfield, WA.

Graveside Services will be Saturday, June 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe. There will be a luncheon to follow at the Grange Hall in Steptoe. Memorial contributions in Randy's honor are suggested to a charity of choice. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
