Rebecca Lynn Novak, passed away on Saturday, July 7, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, WA. She was 55. Rebecca was born on February 4, 1963 in Spokane, WA to John and Lena (Slinkard) Novak. Rebecca attended schools in Colfax before pursuing her GED. She moved to Colorado where she worked on a ranch as a cook. Following her time in Colorado she moved to Steptoe, WA and worked at the Wheel-Inn restaurant as a cook for many years. She moved to Colfax where she raised her two children, Jason and Jacob. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She loved camping and fishing and was a member of the Eagles Club. She is survived by her longtime companion John Birr aka Beatle, her father, John (Lila) Novak of St. John; her two sons, Jason and Jacob Novak; her brothers John (Cheryl) Novak of Tekoa, Michael (Sherrie) Novak of St. John, a sister, Deborah (Bruce) Meyer of Beatrice, NE, aunt Della Slinkard of Spokane; and her three grandchildren, Adam, Dominic, and Taeyth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena and by her brother, Timothy Jackson. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Rebecca's life at the Eagles on July 21st @ 3pm.
