RENA PEARL BOURNE, 93, of Pullman, WA went to be with her Lord & Savior on Dec. 2, 2015 the last of her nine siblings to pass away. She died at Pullman Regional Hospital. Rena was born in a rural setting on Prince Edward Island, Canada on March 4, 1922 to Benjamin & Lydia (Hicken) Hayter. In 1930 during the great depression the family moved west to British Columbia where Rena graduated from Penticton High School in 1940. She met William Borisenko (who later changed their last name to Bourne) and they married on May 28, 1949 in Penticton, B.C.. The next decade saw her raising their 4 children and serving as bookkeeper for the family construction business. During this time she was an active Cub Scout leader as well. Rena and William later were divorced. She reentered the workforce, excelling as an office manager. Rena was sharp at seeing good investment opportunities. She enjoyed designing and furnishing her five custom built homes. Rena enjoyed traveling in her younger years as well as sports cars. In her later years she occupied her time with knitting, reading and needlepoint, all in the company of her cats whom she loved very much. Rena was involved and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pullman through the years. Rena is survived by her children Karen Wiltse of Trail, B.C.; Kevin (Diane) Bourne of Potlatch, ID; Tim (Darylann) Bourne of Medical Lake, WA; Dave (Mary) of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her former husband William Bourne of Parksville, B.C. A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at Kimball Funeral Home, Pullman, WA. Private family interment was held at the Pullman Cemetery.
