Richard James Patterson, 73, of St. John passed away at his home on April 10, 2023. He was born March 20, 1950 to Howard and Evelyn Patterson of St. John. Dick went to school in St. John and graduated with the class of 1969. As a youth he collected the latest top ten 45 records of pop music. He enjoyed each summer going on trips with his mother and father and collecting memorabilia. In the fall of 1969 Dick went to the San Diego Navy boot camp. After getting his honorable discharge he came back to Spokane Community College and got a degree in bakery. He spent his working years in Walla Walla until 2011 when he came home to care for his father. Dick stayed retired and had a daily schedule going downtown and doing his errands. He loved having lunch at the Rialto. Dicks hobbies were watching TV shows especially Star Trek, old westerns and he was a history buff of World War II. Dick leaves behind many cousins and family as well as many friends including the people at the St. John Pharmacy, Empire Foods, The Lamont Bank, the crew at the Rialto, and the Post Office.
