Richard C. Rounds, 75, passed away at his home in Colfax on September 8, 2025. He was born in Renton, Washington on April 9, 1950 to Ellis and Nina Rounds. He grew up in Issaquah graduating with the class of 1969. Soon after graduation at the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While in boot camp, he welcomed the birth of his daughter, Leslie, in 1972, before returning to complete his training. He went on to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves, working in motor transport, where he rose to the highest rank in his department and took pride in organizing convoys. During his service, he also earned sharpshooter status. He continued his work as a mechanic and later returned to the Issaquah area to care for his father. In 1996, he married Tammie, and together they blended their families, blessing him with two more daughters. He was a devoted member of the Colfax Eagles since 1978, he cherished camping, fishing, and lending a helping hand wherever he could. He was known for his quick wit and unforgettable jokes; he always kept people smiling. He enjoyed starting each day with a cup of coffee before work and was widely known as one of the best Volkswagen mechanics around.

He is survived by his wife Tammie at their home in Colfax; his three daughters, Leslie Rounds and Kristin Petzsch Cuccia both of Colfax, and Allison (Tim) Woolery Regnier of Spokane Valley; four grandchildren, Samantha Sanders, Richard and Jasmine Lander and Noelle Regiener; five great-grandchildren, Noah, Jaiden, Kaia, Maci, and Joseph. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Rounds, of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
